Monday Motivation

“Whether you succeed or not is irrelevant, there is no such thing. Making your unknown known is the important thing.”

– Georgia O’Keeffe

Georgia O’keeffe is one of my favourite artists. And I also admire her character, she was so much her own person. And I love this quote for its forthright grounding in reality. Drop the pretence, the striving, and contortions to grab the proverbial gold ring, it’s only a mirage. Simply make your unknown known. Then take a long solitary walk in the foot hills of Taos. (ah, if only)

Recovering Creative

I live on a tiny island on the Canadian west coast with about 300 of my neighbours. I am a Red Seal chef and certified baker (retired), an artist, an amateur photographer. I write, (unpublished so hesitate to call myself A Writer) sing, and can bang out some reasonable sounding chords on a guitar. And I grow a veggie garden. Older, wiser, and armed with insights and experience, I am on a conscience pursuit of reclaiming my creative life. I see it as a career change. Next level.

      1. That’s my neck of the woods! I grew up about an hour east of Val Marie on the edge of the Big Muddy Badlands. I love me some wide open prairie space and skies!

        1. We’ve taken several drives to Ontario from Vancouver ( husbands family) and passing through the prairies is, for me, anything but boring, and Saskatchewan the most enchanting of them. Cyprus hills, Qu’Apelle Valley – who knew you could come upon that lush, verdant swath in the middle of a southern prairie? And Val Marie is just plain magical. I hope to spend a week- stay at the Convent- and soak all that sky up!
